On the morning of Tuesday 25 October, Dr. Ricardo Abelló Galvis presented his paper on the challenges posed on the global stage by the proliferation of border walls and, in parallel, of mass migratory movements. In it, the Colombian expert reminded the audience of the existing walls, emphasised the human rights tools that should serve to guarantee the rights of migrants and advocated the development of specific international instruments that deal in a specialised manner with the rights of migrants on the basis of achieving sufficient parameters to guarantee a dignified life. The presentation was followed by an intense debate and the formulation of a draft resolution on the subject.
