The institute

The Hispano-Luso-American Institute of International Law (IHLADI) was founded in 1951. IHLADI is a scientific, non-political association dedicated to the study, development, and promotion of international law. It has held 29 biennial congresses. Its papers and conclusions are published in the IHLADI Yearbook. The members and associates of IHLADI are international law experts from more than twenty countries within the Ibero-American and Philippine community.

IHLADI, as an academic forum for study and debate, is open to cooperation with institutions, states, and international organizations. Its vocation of service to the international community reflects a commitment to peace, international order, respect for the principles and norms of international law, and the promotion of its progressive development.
