With the presence of the Viceminister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Chile, Dr. Ximena Fuentes, academic authorities of the Central University of Chile and guests of accredited diplomatic delegations, the closing gala dinner of the XXXI IHLADI Congress was held on Friday 28 October in Santiago de Chile.
In addition to the resolutions and texts adopted by the different commissions, which will be published shortly, the Assembly of members of the Congress agreed to designate Dr. Hugo Llanos Mansilla, President of the institution, as an honorary member of IHLADI.
Likewise, after the corresponding voting process, it agreed to appoint as members of IHLADI the former associates Gonzalo Aguilar Cavallo (Chile), Ricardo Abelló Galvis (Colombia), Pablo César Revilla Montoya (Peru) and Patrícia Laidley Melo Galvão Teles (Portugal).
The IHLADI Board of Directors was renewed and is now composed of the following members: Hugo Llanos Mansilla (Chile), as president. Óscar Benítez (Argentina), Ana Gemma López Martín (Spain), Íñigo Salvador Crespo (Ecuador), Carlos Argüello (Nicaragua), Cristina Aguiar (Dominican Republic) and Manuel Ventura Robles (Costa Rica), as directors with a mandate until 2026; and by Ana Elizabeth Villalta Vizcarra (El Salvador), Jean Michel Arrighi (Uruguay), Dário Moura Vicente (Portugal) and Beatriz Ramacciotti (Peru), as directors with a mandate until 2024.
Finally, Lisbon was designated as the venue for the XXXII IHLADI Congress, to be held during the first week of September 2024, and Dr. Dário Moura Vicente as President of the Organising Committee.
For its part, the Plenary Assembly agreed to admit, for the next Congress to be held in Lisbon in 2024, the presentation of candidatures of internationalists from Equatorial Guinea and other African countries with historical and cultural links with Spain and Portugal.
Finally, after the corresponding elections, the following candidates were proposed as associates of IHLADI: Carlos Eduardo Echegaray de Maussion and Silvina María Barón Knoll (Argentina); Carmen Beatriz de Lemos Tiburcio Rodrigues, Aziz Tuffi Saliba, José Augusto Fontoura Costa, Gustavo Ferraz de Campos Monaco and Paulo Borba Casella (Brazil); Walker Sixto San Miguel Rodríguez (Bolivia); Cristian Gonzalo Cabrera Orellana, Samuel Fernández Illanes, Jaime Ramiro Gallegos Zúñiga and María Ignacia Vial Undurraga (Chile); Andrés Villegas Jaramillo and Walter Arévalo Ramírez (Colombia); Olger Ignacio González-Espinoza (Costa Rica); Magdalena María Martín Martínez and María Teresa Ponte Iglesias (Spain); Elvia Lucía Flores Ávalos (Mexico); Claudia Gabriela Loza Obregón (Nicaragua); Kelly Jaimes Blanco and Paola Diana Reyes Parra (Peru); Maria Helena Barros de Brito, Luís Pedro Rocha de Lima Pinheiro and Jónatas Eduardo Mendes Machado (Portugal).
