Yesterday, at the age of 86, the eminent internationalist and member of IHLADI, Oriol Casanovas i La Rosa, passed away in Barcelona. With a PhD in Law from the University of Barcelona, he was Professor of Public and Private International Law at the three major universities of his native city and is considered one of the great Spanish masters of international law. An acute and prolific author, his contributions in various areas of international law and international relations are notable. Several generations have benefited from his teachings and outstanding teaching texts. His last monographic work was “Carl Schmitt, pensador del orden internacional” (2022). RIP
